Superbowl

It was actually a closer game than the score really indicated although the Bears were never really in it. Today was a good day all around. Yesterday I felt like junk and just wanted to sit here and try to feel better. I was on the breathing machine all night, and although it was very loud today my breathing is better so it was beneficial. Today I have felt normal and my breathing is good but we are going to do one more night on the breathing machine to ensure I am better. I feel a lot better - I even look better according to individuals that have seen me, i.e., my parents. My voice is even getting better since I am not short of breath. Now when I cough my whole chest doesn't hurt. Our trip will be postponed slightly since I am not sure how long I will be in these walls. Grandpa Bernie is helping us find a wonderful motor home to use for our trip. Please pray for a safe trip for us with great weather. Hope you all have fantastic plans coming up, and have a great night.

I was hoping for about 6 touchdowns from Dallas Clark and 10 field goals from Robbie Gould so I could win our fantasy league, but I'll take a big win for Tony Dungy anyway.

Hey I have a copy of the Dream Team IV video that I need to give you.

Great to hear you're feeling better!

Love ya, man.

JJ! Glad you're back posting! People would much rather read your messages than mine. If you read this and you're still awake, call me for some Sim LIVE. I'll be up for a little while. Love you, JJ. See you soon!

I have to admit Andy is correct. I would much rather read you're posts than his, no offense Andy. His posts on Kuke's Blog just don't have the same flavor as the original. It is great to hear you are doing better. We understand the postponing of the trip, but are still hoping for a stop in the greater Wichita area. Love you bro'

So happy to read that you're feeling better! Hopefully you slept really well last night and your good feelings carried into the morning.
I don't really have any opinion on the game last night- not too into football I have to admit, but I will say that the halftime show was one of the best I've ever seen. Glowing marching band aside, Prince was fabulous! It was nice to have some MN representation.
Have a wonderful time on the road trip and make sure to stop to see all of the 'national treasures'- ie: largest ball of mud, oldest piece of cheese, etc... I get the feeling the route you guys are planning will have quite a few to offer. You'll have to report back. Be careful at the Grand Canyon, and make sure to feed the squirrels- might be illegal, but they look really cute and will eat out of your hand! Take Care and Have an amazing trip,
With Love,
Sarah

I am new to blogs but it is a great way to communicate and keep in touch. I am Taylor Lane's mom, Sharon, and Taylor suggested I go to the blog and read about Justin. I am glad to hear that you are breathing better. I wish you happy travels as you set out to the west/northwest. You and your family are in thoughts and my prayers. Wishing you the best, Sharon Lane

It's good to hear you are feeling better and making your own posts. Rest and build up your strength for the trip. You are going to see some amazing places. Don't forget to breath in the fresh pine scented air when you get in the mountains. While you are in CA, you should stop in Sequoia National Park. Giagantic trees and beautiful scenery.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. I'll call you later today.

Love you -

Kim

Justin,
Heidi told me about your struggle. I've put you on our prayer list at our church and I'm praying for you.

I thought I would share with you a devotion I had quite a long time ago. I've kept it around because it had such an impact on me.

It's below.

Peace in Christ,
Jim Richter

The Big “C”
“For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37

The note was short and sweet. A friend asked for prayers. She wrote that the test results showed she had the big “C”. Calling it that was probably easier for her than actually saying or writing the word cancer, the word that makes it so real, so harsh.

Sensing her fear, I immediately went to my computer and made a mini-poster for her:
This is reality:
I have the big “C”* within me
* The big “C” = Christ!

He even makes cancer look very small!

Christ living in you makes every “C” and everything you dread look smaller – cancer, career changes, cardiac ailments, controversies, common colds, cemeteries, custody cases, costly checking errors, checkups, complications, and a multitude of other catastrophes. Jesus’ cross, compassion, and courage cover all our “C’s” and make them small in Him.

Now all our “C’s” looks different to us through Christ crucified! Even Jesus. By His cross Jesus has become the only truly big “C” in our lives. His cross reveals that nothing can separate us from Him or His love for us. What a blessing it is to have the big “C” (Christ) in our hearts and lives!

Prayer: Christ, change me and my perspective through Your cross and Your living presence within me. AMEN.

Justin,

I read your blog fr/ Friday -- you said you felt good, but not sure why. I and the Osborn fam continue to pray that you have more Feel-Good days like that one!! You have such an amazing & positive spirit Justin!! Makes me have a big ol' smile! Have a spectacular trip ... I was just in Vancouver last week and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. Not sure if you already have planned what you're going to do there, but Granville Island was pretty cool in Vancouver and you might like the "Experience Music Project" in Seattle. Be sure to upload pic's fr/ your Wild West trip!

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Hey Justin!

I know it has been awhile, but I just wanted to let you know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I read your blog often and am in awe at your strength, faith and spirit through all of this. As so many have already said, you are such an inspiration!

I'm a bit disappointed to have not seen the Superbowl this year, as it's not broadcasted at a convenient time here in Spain. But I hope you are feeling better and have a fabulous road trip - it sounds like it'll be great!
Warm thoughts and prayers from the Mediterranean,
Paige
